From a wide number of sources, the Society has a unique collection of over 10,000 negatives covering pre-grouping, grouping and nationalised eras of British railways and many from overseas railways. See sample from List 24 The lists currently available, covering some 4,300 subjects, are on the Photographic Collections lists page. Any photographs for which additional information is required are shown here.

Stanier Pacific 6233 Duchess of Sutherland - Winning entry of the Newcastle upon Tyne Centre 2010 John Morris Transparency Competition the locomotive is seen heading south past Howe & Co Sidings Signal Box, on the Settle & Carlisle line, with the ‘Cumbrian Mountain Express’ on Saturday 7 July 2007. Mystery photo - Journal J869 - A photograph of the iconic Birmingham Area Railtour of 3 June 1950 taken by W.A. Camwell (‘Cam’) on his first rail tour and consisting of a trip up the Harborne branch, the first passenger train to Harborne since 1934.
