Update log - 2007
19 Dec Updates are to the Obituaries page and to the Journal page with details of the next edition and the change of cover photograph. We are also taking the opportunity to wish all vistors to the website a Merry Christmas and happy New Year.
12 Nov. 2008 meeting schedule - various speaker and title revisions for the Newcastle Centre 2008 events added to Perpetual Calendar and Meeting Dates pages.
29 Oct thro' 2 Nov - Several changes including removal of out dated event listings from the News sections; membership rates updated for 2008 renwals; junior's revised downwards and also confirmation the adult rate held for further 12 months.. See application form for details. Journal contents page updated to latest edition (November/December) and cover pictures added to free-view lists etc.. Amendments to the detail of Kidderminster Centre meetings in 2008 updated on meetings page and Perpetual Calendar.
21 Oct - New content added to the links page covering locomotive oddities, miniature lines, Sir Arthur Heywood and additional preserved steam railways. Two of the site links removed after testing for the 16th October update also now reinstated (one was a changed URL traced the other has now again responded as active).
20 Oct. Regrettably several new obituaries will appear in the next Journal (November/December) and they have been added in advance to our Obituaries page. Phase One of the controlled migration to our new site URL completed; namely replacement of all textual (HTML) pages on the old site by new versions "auto-forwarding" visitors to our new website URL of www.stephensonloco.org.uk.
16 Oct - Full links update completed. Twelve completely new links added All existing links were manually checked; where broken they were either repaired or moved into the "where have they gone" section pending deletion.
15 Oct - News of the anticipated NYMR special on 20 & 21 October added. (see entry above) Also significant update to the Early Railways sub-section pages revising/updating them to fit the site "house style". With the move to the new web host we have also been able to reinstate the illustrations in the transcription of Chapter 1 of British Locomotives by C J Bowen-Cooke which had to be temporarily withdrawn due to space problems on the old servers. (See Early Steam Locomotives page) The corresponding pages on the old site also replaced with "auto-forwarding" messages as part of the ongoing controlled migration to our live website URL of www.stephensonloco.org.uk. Obsolete link to the combined links page also updated across the site.
9 Oct - Meetings list and perpetual calendar updated with further additions to the Barnet Centre listing.
27 Sep - Meetings list and perpetual calendar updated with minor revisions to the Barnet and Newcastle listings for Spring 2008 meetings. Further pages on the old site replaced with "auto-forwarding" messages as part of a controlled migration to our new website URL of www.stephensonloco.org.uk
14 Sep - Emergency revisions to several pages due to the unexpected death of our Librarian (See news item above). Scheduled updates also to the meeting dates/speaker lists by Centre and the Perpetual Calendar adding details of meetings in Newcastle in early 2008. As of today's update our new website URL is the master as set out in the news item above.
2 Sep - Details of our new URL released. (See news item above) www.stephensonloco.org.uk Contents of the September/October Journal added. Free view photograph list updated. Meetings list and perpetual calendar updated with minor revisions.
19 Aug - Meetings list further updated - Change of speaker at the Barnet Centre's 15 November meeting, extra outdoor meeting organised by Teesside Centre announced for Sunderland on 27 October and additional updates to Yarm Centre listing for 2008. Updated Perpetual Calendar now live. Only a handful of meeting dates/speakers for winter season meetings remain TBC and these will be added as received.
13 Aug -Significant update to the Photographic Collection lists page and the associated order forms etc. A printer friendly pdf copy of the photographic lists index also newly added in this update.
12 Aug - Further minor updates from the review of site content plus additional winter season meetings have been added to the centre listing page for the Middlesbrough and Yarm centres.
29 & 30 Jul - A review of site content with associated minor updates is current work in progress. Additional winter season meetings have been added to the centre listing page.
8Jul - Further winter indoor season meeting dates added to the centre listing page with associated update to the Perpetual Calendar page. Centre listings updated today are Ayrshire, Teesside, Yarm, Manchester, Liverpool and South Lakeland/Kendal.
2 Jul - Tribute to the fall of Southern steam added to Home page and updates to the one-off meetings page plus the correction of a formatting bug on the meetings dates page.
23 Jun - Updated SLS Journal page with contents of new edition. The front cover picture shows K1 2-6-0 62005 on the Three Dales rail tour of 12 May 2007 with SLS headboard. This tour marked the 40th anniversary of the tour organised by the SLS in 1967 with the same locomotive.
4 Jun - The George Stephenson and Leicester and Swannington pages updated to house style. Additional reference links added to the George Stephenson page.
14 May. First winter season meeting dates added for Newcastle and Kidderminster Centres plus the Perpetual Calendar page.
8 - 11 May - The Orion text added above and to home page plus scheduled update to the Journal page and, regrettably, further updates to the Obituaries page. The winter season meeting dates are now coming in and will be added to the site in the coming weeks as and when I get them, listed by centre and by date in the Perpetual Calendar.
28 Apr - Feedback on the County Forum added above, to the index page and the one-off meetings page. Also a reminder that we have outdoor visits this season listed on the one-off meetings and Kidderminster Centre pages.
18 Mar - full overhaul of the Early Railways timeline page including the addition of new information/new links to external sources plus a full sources list. Additional file also added into the Yahoo Members Only Group.
14 Mar- regular scheduled update to the Journal pages for most recent edition and regrettably an update also to the obituaries page. Additional file added into the Members Only section in the Yahoo Groups section. A reminder also that there is a full mirror of the SLS site available on another site. - Link revised 5 Feb 2007

11 Feb. Further revision to the Members Only Extras page to clarify the dial up options.
5 Feb. The SLS content on the mirror site has been consolidated into a sub-folder. Please update any links to the mirrored home page and the mirrored library catalogue index page to the new links. Perpetual Calendar and meeting dates pages updated with final details of the topic for the Bromley meeting on Wed 4th March. Two additional feature articles have also been added to files section in the members only section within Yahoo Groups. These files cover Predicting Boiler Behaviour and The World's First Electric Locomotive. NB If you access the internet from a security protected site please check you can access content on Yahoo Groups before signing up.

12 Jan minor updates and removal of old meeting references plus details of the Brian Gilliam Memorial lectures added.
7 Jan - Comprehensive feedback on two articles covered previously in the Journal has been added to the members only section in the Yahoo Groups. To read more about the First Electric Locomotive and Predicting Boiler Pressure non-members will need to join and then sign up to the group pages.
3 Jan - Regrettably an update to the obituaries section. . The Journal page also updated to latest edition's contents (January/February) as is the previous contents page. More site updates to come in next few days including two completely new reference articles. Mirror site and main site both updated. Invites to the members forum going out to the recent new recruits. Details of the Consolidation talk to be held at Kidderminster Centre added to home page and this page.
